How I Grow My Business
Almost every week I receive Instagram DM and emails and Facebook messages all saying along the lines of "Wow, you're incredible.. !" or "How did you get so many stores?" or "Do you have any tips for me?!"
It's VERY funny.
I am not incredible or WOW or magic or am blessed with super human skills. Nothing actually. Just a normal person BUT to save the repetition I am happy to share with you how I managed to secure 40 wholesale accounts in my first 12 months.
1. My attitude was NEVER... "I'll see how it goes" wishy washy half hearted nonsense. This was what I was going to do and that was that. No backing out, no jumping ship, no plan B - Pebble+Fred was going to be my career so I had no option but to succeed (and succeed good because I love expensive stuff!).
2. Every morning I would write my to-do list - this is something I take very seriously. If I write something on there I must do it. Non negotiable. Every morning I would write the things I needed to do that would GROW my business and not just take care of my business. Every day I did something that moved my business forward even if it was un nerving or cost money or meant I was still up at 3 am. The rewards are worth it.
3. Sales Calls. EVERY SINGLE DAY. I would make at least 5 calls to store owners all over the country. I would do some background research and call. No good or bad time to call - retail is terrible for this as their customers come and go whenever they please. Yes, I was hung up on, ignored, rudely spoken to, given empty promises BUT the owners that I did speak with and were then offered the opportunity to send through an wholesale information email are the stores I still have today - these stores also are my largest accounts, are really wonderful to work with and also nurture me and my business as I grow. Those sales calls are SO incredibly nerve racking and hard and are filled with so much emotions but without that pain I would hate to think where I still would be.
I could go on and on about the other things I do but perhaps I'll keep that for another day. But these things should keep you going for a little while.
Oh and by the way. I can do anything and you are the same as me.
