Hmm. Let me think.. Nope. Nothing. No just kidding. While I love being at home, being my own boss and raising my child there are certainly things I miss about being a part of a workplace.
Here are my top three.
One. Uniforms. Crazy, right? Who would have thought. A uniform made my mornings simple. No matching, no styling, no nothing really. Perhaps a little iron if I felt fancy and that was it. One less thing I had to worry about, aka good thing!
Two. People. And mainly guys, oddly enough. I always worked in male dominant industries, and while they are commonly very annoying, most guys, I worked with were incredibly funny. Joking and playing pranks all day long and the things they'd say... like did you really just say that? Out loud?! Oh boy. I remember spending most of my days tummy laughing in my past jobs. I MISS that.
Three. Switching off. Come 5:00pm worries could and would wait. Working for yourself on the other hand, I find, personally, very difficult. From the moment my eyes open to the second I fall asleep, I am thinking about my business. The good the bad, the ugly. Everything and it's exhausting, rewarding but exhausting. Small price to pay for the luxuries of working from home and I often hear old people worry less... so I guess I just need to hold on a little longer... 50 years should do it!
